Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Network Administrator Senior to support mission-critical networks at a customer site in Virginia. You will perform network design, implementation, and administration across classified and unclassified environments, ensuring high availability and security compliance.

The role requires TS/SCI with Polygraph eligibility, US citizenship, and 3+ years of related experience, with a track record in government or IC networks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience
• Must have experience with Intelligence Community customer
• Must have experience working with mid and senior level government
• Must have experience supporting classified government networks
• Certifications in networks highly desired

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with IT system team members and the Government to maintain and enhance mission IT systems
• Maintain high availability to ensure readiness for 24x7 mission operations
• Drive innovative solutions to solve challenging network and mission IT system challenges that support mission
• Analyzes customer requirements and provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
• Performs administration, maintenance and upgrade of networks including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and networks
• Administers and maintains network integrity and connectivity while ensuring compliance with policies and maintains system backup and recovery capability
• Coordinates the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed
• Creates plans and configure systems for data communication networks
• Designs and builds hardware and software components for computer or telecommunications networks
• Evaluates new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network
• Designs, plans, and builds communications networks. Configures routers, switches, and firewalls for LAN and WAN systems and VPN concentrators with appropriate network engineering and communications protocols. Coordinates LAN/WAN hardware/software improvements and/or enhancements. Monitors networks utilizing industry leading processes, technologies and tools. Provides innovative methods and technical solutions using the engineering design process. Plans implementation of enhancements to LAN/WAN networks. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned
• May coach and provide guidance to less experienced professionals
• May serve as a team or task lead
• Participates in special projects as required.
