Job summary

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC seeks a Network Administrator II to support Shaw Air Force Base in Oakland, South Carolina. The role provides network/system administration and Help Desk duties under a government contract and requires DoD‑level qualifications.

Responsibilities span design, installation, maintenance and security of multi-protocol LAN/WAN environments, plus support for remote users and product evaluations to improve operations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent with 3 years related experience in SAN/Server, SQL/SharePoint, or related systems.
• DoD 8140.03 qualification aligned to DCWF duties.
• Must have a valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Supports design, installation, maintenance, administration and support of LAN/WAN in a multi-protocol environment.
• Configures, monitors, maintains and analyzes data processing equipment, databases and video systems.
• Installs and upgrades operating systems and application software in a LAN/WAN client/server setting.
• Provides Help Desk support for LAN/WAN hardware and software.
• Maintains connectivity using TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, NDS and NT Domain strategies.
• Manages cross-platform inter-connectivity and login authentication.
• Maintains connectivity between multiple remote locations using WAN links.
• Oversees LAN/WAN security, routers and firewalls.
• Delivers end-to-end support for remote users of remote control systems.
• Researches and recommends products for evaluation and deployment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Bering-Alaka`ina Holdings, LLC is looking for a Network Administrator II to provide support for our government customer on Shaw Air Force Base, Oakland, South Carolina.

With limited supervision, performs the network/system administration and help desk functions supporting a designated customer contract or program.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supports the design, installation, maintenance, administration, and support of internal computer systems and networks in a multi-protocol LAN/WAN environment.
• Performs thorough configuration, monitoring, maintenance and analysis of data processing equipment, databases, and video systems.
• Installs and upgrades operating systems and other application software in a LAN/WAN client/server environment.
• Provides Help Desk support, including troubleshooting and problem resolution, for all LAN/WAN hardware and software.
• Maintains and manages connectivity using TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, NDS, NT Domain strategies and protocols.
• Maintains and manages cross platform inter-connectivity including communication protocols, directory services and log in authentication.
• Maintains and manages connectivity between multiple remote locations using WAN equipment and services.
• Maintains and manages LAN/WAN security requirements through proper software/hardware tools and procedures including router and firewall management.
• Provides end-to-end support for remote users of specialized remote control computer systems.
• Support research and contribute recommendations for products for evaluation, testing, implementation, and integration, as needed.
• Perform all other position related duties, as assigned, or requested.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

• Associate degree in a technical discipline or equivalent academic, military or technical training and 3 years of directly related experience on at least one of the following systems: SAN Storage, Server Blade, SQL, SharePoint, C2ISR video data, network performance software, and firewalls, or basic database administration.
• Possess and maintain a DoD 8140.03 qualification matched to the Defense Cyber Workforce (DCWF) assigned duties.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state issued driver’s license.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Must possess thorough knowledge, and technical competence in the maintenance and management of LAN/WAN computer software and hardware and video systems.
• Must possess thorough knowledge of network topology, communication standards, protocols, data transmission technology, and routers/switches.
• Must possess excellent oral, written, and graphical communication skills.
• Must be self-directed and able to establish and meet project guidelines/timelines.
• Demonstrated experience in multi-protocol client server environments.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must possess and maintain a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain TS/SCI SAP/SAR Security Clearance, as required.
