Job summary

Smith & Loveless is seeking a Network Administrator I to join the Information Systems team in Lenexa, KS. You will support and manage both on-site and remote network infrastructure, servers, storage, backups, and security, while ensuring high availability and compliance with company standards.

The role emphasizes proactive maintenance, documentation, and teamwork within a manufacturing-focused environment dedicated to protecting water and people.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year (minimum) hands-on experience in all areas listed below.
• Ability to administer firewalls, routers, managed switches, and wireless infrastructure.
• Ability to deploy and administer Windows and Linux based servers.
• Effective knowledge of security protocols, methods (certificates, encryption), and best practices.
• Ability to build, deploy, configure, and update networking and server hardware and software.
• Ability to administer desktop and mobile platforms along with common applications.

Responsibilities

• Provides support of main and remote facility networks, server infrastructure, storage systems, backup and recovery, and Windows and Linux based application environments.
• Implements security measures to protect network systems and data.
• Administers network switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless infrastructure.
• Performs troubleshooting and root cause analysis on network and server issues and reports findings.
• Researches, plans, and proactively manages firmware and software updates for IT infrastructure to keep systems current and secure.
• Develops IT procedures and build documents, contributes to disaster recovery and business continuity efforts.
