Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking a Network Administrator 3 for the Security and Electronic Systems (SES) unit to design, implement, operate, and maintain complex networks supporting mission-critical facilities.

You will manage configurations, documentation, and security policies while coordinating with Security System Technicians and leveraging VPN, firewall, and LAN/WAN expertise. Active DoD TS/SCI w/ poly clearance is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's, Associate, or HS with progressive experience.
  • Experience implementing network technologies and providing end-user support.
  • Experience with routing protocols, switching technologies, LAN/WAN, firewall configurations.
  • DoD 8570 compliance with IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Sec+) required.
  • Current CCNA or Network+ certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, install, configure, test, operate, analyze and document complex networks.
  • Maintain user accounts, access privileges, and security policies.
  • Perform network status checks, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Support VPN deployments and site-to-site connections.

We are seeking a Network Administrator 3 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business Unit. As part of (SES) Strategic Business Unit you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for design, implementation, operations & maintenance, and cybersecurity for large complex resilient hardware and virtualized infrastructure to ensure implemented solutions meet stakeholder needs, standards, and performance requirements.

Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day planning, installation, configuration, testing, operation, analysis and documentation of complex networks.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Support network documentation as well as establishing and maintaining User accounts, User access privileges and security policies.
  • Support establishing and maintaining User accounts, User access privileges and security policies.
  • Support planning, installing, configuring, testing, operating, analyzing and documenting duties.
  • Perform scheduled network status checks, troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Support planning and implementation of high and low speed LAN connections and designs.
  • Support planning and implementation of VPN solutions to include site-to-site VPN's built between hardware based firewalls.
  • Support management of hardware firmware revisions to include testing latest firmware revisions on current configurations and deploying when deemed appropriate
  • Support configuration of common network equipment for operation.
  • Collaborate with Security System Technicians on connectivity requirements and procedures.
  • Support troubleshooting of common network equipment.
  • Document common network equipment configurations and settings.
  • Support integration of new technologies into existing high and low speed networks.
  • Audit network component hardware and software changes.
  • Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency) and test for weakness.
  • Support installation and troubleshooting of common enterprise class network equipment to include firewalls, routers, and switches.
  • Support installation and troubleshooting of fiber cross connects to existing backbone cabling.
Qualifications

Clearance/Citizen Type: Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements, including U.S. Citizenship, for access to classified information; active DoD TS/SCI w/ polygraph clearance is required.

Key Requirements:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ Years of progressive experience or
    • Associates Degree and 8+ Years of progressive experience or
    • HS Diploma or Equivalent and 10+ Years of progressive experience
  • Some experience implementing various network technologies and end-user support.
  • Some experience in the use of routing protocols and switching technologies, LAN/WAN medias and protocols, and firewall configuration and protocols.
  • Familiarity with Information Assurance concepts and requirements.
  • Current certification in one of the following: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or CompTIA Network+.
  • DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level ll or higher (e.g., Sec+).
  • Strong communications, time management, and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
  • Experience working independently and with multidisciplinary teams.

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Travel:
    • Up to 25% annual, CONUS and OCONUS locations.
