Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Network Administrator to be onsite at Quantico, VA. You will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot network connectivity and infrastructure across multiple classified networks, partnering with NOSC to provide helpdesk support and maintain IA compliance.

The role includes LAN/WAN/VPN oversight, hardware configuration, and coordination with Navy/DISA and service providers. Expect shifts including evenings and weekends, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5+ years relevant experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD/JD with 0 years.
  • High school diploma/equivalent with 9+ years relevant experience.
  • Experience installing and troubleshooting WAN/LAN equipment and circuits.
  • Experience monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting ASA firewall ACLs.
  • Proficient in Cisco networking (IP addressing, VLANs, OSPF/EIGRP/BGP, Cisco IOS).
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II baseline certification required (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP).
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain LANs, WANs, and VPNs to ensure reliable performance.
  • Plan, install, configure, and reconfigure network hardware and software.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues including WAN circuits and firewall ACLs.
  • Coordinate with Navy, DISA, and circuit providers for implementation and resolution.
  • Maintain Information Assurance compliance and IOS upgrades.
  • Support remote sites to restore network operations after outages.
  • Prepare and maintain network documentation and records.
  • Monitor performance and propose improvements.
  • Coordinate third-party maintenance for equipment.
  • Design network solutions to meet evolving needs.
  • Work shifts including evenings, nights, and weekends.

Job Description

Insight Global for a Network Admin to be onsite at Quantico, VA. The Network Administrator is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting network connectivity and infrastructure. This role supports multiple networks across various classification levels, ensuring continuous, secure connectivity for customers and sites. The position works closely with the Network Operations and Security Center (NOSC) to provide helpdesk support, resolve connectivity issues, and maintain compliance with Information Assurance requirements.

What you will do
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and virtual private networks (VPN) to ensure smooth, reliable performance.
  • Plan, install, configure, and reconfigure network hardware and software, including routers, switches, firewalls, multiplexers, hubs, bridges, and gateways.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues, including WAN circuits, equipment failures, router/switch configurations, firewall ACLs, VoIP device setup, and cryptographic device/keying material.
  • Coordinate with Navy, DISA, and commercial circuit providers for network implementation and issue resolution.
  • Maintain Information Assurance compliance, including IOS upgrades, configuration changes, and firewall ACL verification.
  • Support remote sites in restoring network operations after outages or failures.
  • Prepare and maintain network documentation, including operational instructions and configuration records.
  • Monitor network performance, conduct analysis, and provide recommendations for short and long term improvements.
  • Coordinate third party maintenance for network equipment when required.
  • Design network solutions, including hardware and software selection, to meet evolving operational needs.
  • Work periodic shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends, as required to support mission readiness and operational continuity.

Compensation: $50/hr to $57/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law
