Description

Our industry-leading government client is seeking a Network Administrator to join their team.

This is a remote, contract position requiring a minimum of a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience. The candidate must have strong network administration experience and be capable of leading, implementing, and supporting specialized business and technical IT solutions. Willingness to work off-hours, weekends, and on-call is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for network incidents.
• Resolve network issues assigned to the team.
• Drive problem resolution to ensure business continuity.
• Participate in shift rotations, including evenings, weekends, and on-call support.
• Improve incident response quality and ensure timely resolutions.
• Implement preventative measures for future incidents.
• Audit network devices to meet or exceed compliance standards.
• Manage network changes following ITIL processes.
• Install, upgrade, and maintain network components.
• Document processes and procedures.

Experience Requirements

• Extensive knowledge of F5 LTM load balancers, Checkpoint and Juniper firewalls.
• Proficiency with Cisco IOS routers, Nexus OS switches.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across desktops, servers, and firewalls.
• Advanced knowledge of protocols such as OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, VLAN, TCP/IP.
• Excellent customer service, documentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and remotely with teams.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a related field or at least 10 years of relevant experience.
