We are looking for a Network Administrator to help us more tightly maintain and upgrade functional and secure networks. Individual who will participate on a small team of engineers to troubleshoot build, optimize and maintain our networks for our users and customers. In this role, you should have excellent problem-solving skills and solid knowledge of enterprise networking. Must be a self-motivated Networking professional with a desire to be part and help build the Best Networking team in the business
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy and maintain both physical and wireless networks for the enterprise at our datacenters, as well as campus sites, including those networks for compute communications and telecommunications
- Network monitoring and alerting on the overall performance of systems to assess the current operational state, need for updates, and recommending options for upgrading and improving the performance of systems
- Assist the Senior Network Engineer in the processes, procedures, and operational management associated with high levels of network availability and risk management
- Work with network carriers and external resources for STRATACACHE to ensure service delivery, and create and follow issues with carriers through to resolution
- Work with Senior Network Engineer on regular basis to review current network issues, trends, capacity, and growth for all locations
- Work cross-departmentally within the IT organization to assist other teammates and co-workers and admins as necessary (i.e. Assisting VMware Engineer on new deployment for network configurations)
- Networking equipment is mostly Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls with some pfSense, along with Juniper and Fortinet switches, and Ubiquiti and Fortinet wireless.
- Author and maintain network diagrams and configuration documentation
- Education IT is a fast-evolving field, this role will be required to continue their education and stay current on networking technologies
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High School Diploma is required
- Networking Skills: Minimum of 5+ years experience working with enterprise level networks, in Data Centers and Corporate networks. Your skills will need to be competent in building, maintaining and supporting firewalls, routers, switches and wireless equipment required.
- Project Management skills: Experience with projects from kick off to completion required
- Have experience authoring network diagrams using industry standard tools
- Self-Motivation: Due to the small size of the team this position will have autonomy and must be able to stay on task
- Multi-tasking: This is a major part of this job; This associate will need to able to multi-task and stay nimble with work load
- Communication: As a Network Administrator you will need to keep your peers and leadership well informed with the appropriate level of exceptional written & verbal communication
