Job summary

Leader Communications Inc. (LCI) is seeking a Network Administrator in Columbus, Georgia. The role involves the administration, configuration, and maintenance of the Fort Benning Network. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in IT or related field and 2-5 years of relevant experience. Job description

Position Summary

The Network Administrator will provide administration, configuration, operations, and maintenance services for the voice, trunked radio, and video‑teleconferencing portions of the Fort Benning Network Management System. Individuals must be able to attain and maintain a valid US Government security clearance to be retained in the position.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and support network solutions.
  • Provide design and upgrades compliant with Information and Technology standards and initiatives, and develop and maintain secured and unsecured local area networks (LANs).
  • Analyze LAN utilization statistics through data collection and performance measures of classified and unclassified networks.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and fine‑tune components such as switches, routers, firewalls, and Virtual Private Network (VPN) end‑user devices within the overall network connectivity.
  • Test network systems to ensure current network software products are compatible with system configurations and to ensure operability, efficiency, and compliance with existing standards.
  • Perform function tests of system components to identify and resolve technical problems, analyze system malfunctions, implement necessary corrective actions, and provide ongoing support for the resolution of complex problems and operating malfunctions.
  • Perform system backups to ensure expedient restoration of the database for the respective network equipment.
  • Configure, troubleshoot, and analyze technologies.
  • Assist with work requests and enter data for Workload Analysis Report.
  • Manage and maintain the Call Managers, Gatekeepers, and Gateway equipment, if applicable, on all networks.
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and fine‑tune VoIP phone instruments; and operate and maintain Integrated Access Devices (IAD) supporting analog phones connected into the VoIP environment.
  • Assist in the implementation of VOIP upgrade.
  • Perform any other duties requested by the supervisor.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT‑related field.
  • Level II: 2‑5 years’ experience in an IT environment.
  • Possess or be able to obtain an IAT Level II certification. Security+, CCNA or CySA+ certification is strongly desired.
  • National Security background investigation required, Secret clearance.
Skill & Certification Requirements
  • Security+, CCNA or MS 7 certification are strongly desired.
  • Netcool, NSSM, Aruba.
  • Position requires sitting for long periods of time (sedentary work).
  • Most duties require extended use of a keyboard and computer monitor.
  • Extended telephone use.
  • May require lifting of 20‑50 lbs.
