Job summary

Pilgrim’s is seeking a Network Administrator to manage, maintain, and support servers, switches, and cabling at specified locations. Responsibilities include configuring Cisco switches, documenting network configs, and ensuring production floor connectivity.

Candidate should have 3+ years of related experience, Windows Server knowledge, and strong communication skills. Plant environment and travel willingness are required.

Qualifications

  • Three years related experience.
  • Working/troubleshooting knowledge of Windows Server 2003/2008 and Windows XP/Vista.
  • Knowledge of network cabling and connectivity is required.
  • MCSE Certification is a plus; not required.
  • A+ Certification is a plus; not required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer support abilities.
  • Willing to work in a plant/industrial environment.
  • Willing to travel.

Responsibilities

  • Network Maintenance: Support and manage all network components, including routers, switches, and cabling.
  • Production Support: Provide hardware and network support for Production Floor computer systems.
  • System Configuration: Program Cisco switches for LAN functionality.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain site-specific technology documentation and SOPs.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose network, hardware, and software issues.
  • Project Management: Lead technology projects in line with IT standards.
  • Printer Support: Support all printer functions at assigned locations.

Job description

Network Administrator

This position is responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting all computer and network components—including servers, switches, and cabling—at assigned locations. They configure Cisco switches, document network configurations, ensure production floor connectivity, and resolve hardware/software issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Maintenance: Support and manage all network components, including routers, switches, and cabling.
  • Production Support: Provide hardware and network support specifically for "Production Floor" computer systems.
  • System Configuration: Program Cisco switches for Local Area Network (LAN) functionality.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for site-specific technologies and standard operating procedures.
  • Troubleshooting: Perform diagnostics for network, hardware, and software issues.
  • Project Management: Execute technology projects in compliance with IT standards.
  • Printer Support: Support all printer functions at assigned locations
BASIC SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of VLANs and network components.
  • Support Level: Roles may require 24/7 on-call support.
  • Focus: Strong emphasis on maintaining connectivity and performance to minimize downtime
  • Three years related experience
  • Working/troubleshooting knowledge of Windows /2003/2008 Server, Windows XP, Vista,
  • Must have knowledge of Network cabling and connectivity

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT: High School Diploma/GED; Associates degree or two years of college coursework within specific subject related to position functions.
