Network Administrator

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Network Administrator to join our team. This role requires expertise in designing, implementing, and maintaining a robust, scalable, and secure network infrastructure using Cisco, Cisco Meraki, DUO, ISE, and Meraki wireless technologies. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of networking protocols, security best practices, and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and deploy large-scale enterprise networks using Cisco routers, switches, and wireless solutions (Meraki).
  • Configure and optimize network topologies to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance.
  • Implement and manage Cisco Meraki cloud-based networking solutions for wireless access points, switches, and security appliances.
  • Configure and maintain Cisco ISE (Identity Services Engine) for network access control, authentication, and authorization policies.
  • Integrate DUO two-factor authentication to enhance network security.
  • Monitor and secure network traffic using firewalls, VPNs, and other security tools.
  • Use network management tools to monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Analyze network traffic for anomalies, optimize bandwidth usage, and ensure minimal downtime.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including firmware upgrades, patching, and configuration changes.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (e.g., IT, security, DevOps, PlantOps) to design and implement network solutions that align with business goals.
  • Provide technical support for internal users, troubleshooting connectivity issues and resolving network outages.
  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Stay up to date with emerging networking technologies, industry trends, and best practices.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools or processes to enhance network performance, security, and scalability.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and ensure network resilience against potential threats.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience in networking, with at least 2 years in a senior role managing complex networks.
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) or equivalent certifications in networking.
  • Cisco Meraki certification is a plus.
  • Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CEH) are highly valued.

TRAVEL:

  • Travel Required: Minimum , as needed to support the company

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, DHCP).
  • Expertise in Cisco routers, switches, and wireless infrastructure (Cisco Meraki and Catalyst).
  • Strong understanding of network security concepts, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Familiarity with Cisco ISE for identity management and DUO for multi-factor authentication.
  • Hands-on experience with network design, implementation, and troubleshooting in a large enterprise environment.
  • Experience managing cloud-based networking solutions (Cisco Meraki).
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate network tasks.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify performance bottlenecks and implement optimizations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams, including IT staff, developers, and external vendors.
  • Clear communication skills to document processes, provide technical guidance, and present findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with SDN (Software-Defined Networking) and NFV (Network Function Virtualization).
  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet) to streamline network operations.
