• Certifications are preferred but not required; overall experience and demonstrated capability weigh most heavily.

Responsibilities

• At least 5 years of enterprise networking experience with Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper environments in a distributed enterprise setting.
• Manage routing and switching (BGP/OSPF), firewalls and VPNs, wireless networking, NAC, DNS/DHCP/IPAM.
• Maintain and monitor LAN/WAN services across multiple locations; ensure high availability for mission-critical operations.
• Support Microsoft Azure cloud services with security and performance considerations.
• Document changes and maintain compliance with change-management processes.

One of our Clients in Reston, VA needs a Network Administrator for a permanent position.

Job Title: Network Administrator

Location: Reston, VA (On-Site)

Clearance Required: Secret

Overview: Seeking a seasoned Network Engineer with 5+ years of enterprise networking experience, preferably in Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in routing and switching (BGP, OSPF), firewalls, VPNs, wireless networking, NAC, DNS/DHCP/IPAM, and network monitoring tools. Experience managing LAN/WAN infrastructure across multiple locations, supporting Azure cloud services, maintaining documentation and change management processes, and ensuring high availability for mission-critical operations is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• At least 5 years of enterprise networking experience; Cisco, Palo Alto, and Juniper environments are preferred.

Expertise in:

• Routing and switching, including BGP and OSPF.
• Firewalls and VPNs.
• Wireless networking.
• Network Access Control.
• DNS, DHCP, and IP address management.
• Network monitoring/observability and configuration-management tools.

• Strong documentation, incident-response, and change-management discipline.
• Deep experience managing LAN and WAN services, including availability and performance across multiple offices.
• Expertise managing Microsoft Azure cloud services, including security and performance.
• Broad competency with infrastructure devices, network services, cloud services, and monitoring tools.
• Ability to support mission-critical public-safety operations and prevent network-service disruptions.

Qualifications:

• Candidates should have 5+ years of enterprise networking experience with strong hands-on expertise in Cisco/Palo Alto technologies, routing & switching (BGP/OSPF), Azure cloud services, LAN/WAN infrastructure, and network monitoring tools.
• Relevant certifications are preferred but not required, with overall technical experience and demonstrated capability carrying the greatest weight.
