Job summary

GDH is seeking a Network Engineer to support and maintain our enterprise network with a focus on Netscout technologies. You will monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure optimal network health across multiple teams in a hybrid work setting.

You will work with NOC and engineering teams to analyze data, perform root-cause analysis, and contribute to capacity planning and infrastructure investments. A strong foundation in TCP/IP, routing, and monitoring tools is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with Netscout platforms (nGeniusONE, InfiniStream, nGenius Pulse, or ASI)
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, VLANs
  • Experience with packet capture analysis and DPI tools
  • Troubleshooting Layer 2–7 in large enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with SNMP, NetFlow/IPFIX, syslog
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Knowledge of monitoring tools like SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, Grafana, or AppDynamics is a plus
  • Scripting or automation (Python, Ansible, Bash) advantageous
  • Cisco CCNP or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with SD-WAN, cloud networking (AWS/Azure), or hybrid environments is a plus
  • Understanding of ITSM platforms (ServiceNow) and ITIL processes
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, support, and troubleshoot the enterprise network infrastructure using Netscout nGeniusONE and InfiniStream platforms
  • Provide support for network performance incidents and identify network anomalies, packet loss, latency, and application degradation
  • Collaborate with NOC, network engineering, and application teams to correlate performance data and conduct root-cause analysis
  • Maintain and optimize deployment of Netscout probes and InfiniStream appliances across critical network segments
  • Support change management activities, validating network changes with performance comparisons before and after implementation
  • Participate in capacity planning and performance baselining to ensure scalable network growth
  • Contribute to network architecture discussions by providing performance data to inform infrastructure investments
  • Author and maintain runbooks, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation
  • Support on-call rotation and assist in major incident response as needed
  • Assist in troubleshooting and resolving Layer 2–7 network issues in enterprise environments

Job description

This role involves supporting and maintaining the enterprise network infrastructure with a focus on Netscout technologies. The Network Engineer will be responsible for monitoring network performance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring optimal network health. Qualifications


  • Hands-on experience with Netscout platforms (nGeniusONE, InfiniStream, nGenius Pulse, or ASI)

  • Strong working knowledge of network protocols: TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, QoS, VLANs

  • Experience with packet capture analysis and deep packet inspection (DPI) tools

  • Proficiency troubleshooting network issues related to Layer 2–7 in large enterprise or service provider environments

  • Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as SNMP, NetFlow/IPFIX, and syslog

  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings clearly

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience

  • Knowledge of additional monitoring tools like SolarWinds, ThousandEyes, Grafana, or AppDynamics is a plus

  • Scripting or automation skills (Python, Ansible, Bash) are advantageous

  • Cisco CCNP or equivalent certification is preferred

  • Experience with SD-WAN, cloud networking (AWS/Azure), or hybrid environments is a plus

  • Understanding of ITSM platforms (ServiceNow) and ITIL processes

Publishing Pay Range: $50.00 – $54.00 USD Hourly



This position offers a hybrid schedule, with time split between the office and remote work.
