Job summary

EPAM Systems invites an experienced Tech Lead to steer the technical delivery of a cloud-native IoT platform in life sciences. The role bridges onsite and distributed teams, leveraging Azure AKS, Event Hubs, and Service Bus to extend a large-scale microservices ecosystem with a focus on performance and security.

You will guide architecture decisions, lead multi-tenant designs, and collaborate across platform teams on CI/CD, Terraform, and Helm to ensure robust delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong .NET development expertise.
• Experience as Tech Lead or Solution Architect or similar leadership role.
• Strong Azure cloud experience including AKS/Kubernetes, Service Bus, Event Hubs, Azure SQL, Redis, Key Vault, API Management, and Blob Storage.
• Proven design and implementation of event-driven microservices and distributed systems.
• Understanding of asynchronous messaging, eventual consistency, idempotency, and failure recovery.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end technical solution and drive architecture decisions
• Lead discovery activities including architecture assessments, integration design, ERP REST API integrations, and non-functional requirements
• Design and evolve event-driven services focusing on messaging patterns, idempotency, ordering, replay, and service consistency
• Drive design of multi-tenant solutions, security models, audit trails, electronic signatures, and data residency capabilities
• Lead distributed engineering teams through design reviews, technical guidance, and engineering best practices while remaining hands-on in critical areas
• Collaborate with platform teams on CI/CD processes, environment management, framework upgrades, and release coordination
• Define technical acceptance criteria related to performance, security, and scalability
• Participate in technical planning, architecture reviews, and risk management
• Promote AI-assisted engineering practices and continuous improvement initiatives

We are hiring a Tech Lead with strong expertise in .NET, Microsoft Azure, and event-driven microservices to lead the technical delivery of a cloud-native IoT platform in the life sciences domain. In this role, you will work closely with architects and engineering teams, acting as a bridge between onsite and distributed development teams. The platform is built on Azure using AKS, Event Hubs, Service Bus, Azure SQL, Dapper, Elasticsearch, Redis, Angular, Azure DevOps, Terraform, and Helm. Most initiatives focus on extending and enhancing existing services within a large-scale microservices ecosystem.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with strong .NET development expertise
• Previous experience as a Tech Lead, Solution Architect, or similar leadership role
• Strong Azure cloud experience, including AKS/Kubernetes, Service Bus, Event Hubs, Azure SQL, Redis, Key Vault, API Management, and Blob Storage
• Proven experience designing and implementing event-driven microservices and distributed systems
• Strong understanding of asynchronous messaging, eventual consistency, idempotency, and failure recovery patterns
• Solid SQL Server and data modeling experience within SaaS or multi‑tenant environments
• Experience with Dapper and direct SQL development
• Working knowledge of Angular and TypeScript
• Hands‑on experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and Helm
• Good understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, SSO, and role‑based access control
• Strong communication skills and experience leading distributed engineering teams
• Nice to have Experience with IoT or telemetry platforms
• Experience processing time-series data
• Elasticsearch expertise
• Experience with Application Insights, New Relic, or similar observability tools
