Job summary

Olivine, Inc. is seeking a remote .NET engineer to develop software components in a cloud environment using Windows, .NET and Azure. You’ll stay current with the .NET ecosystem and contribute to scalable web solutions, collaborating with a small, growing team.

You will help deliver DER projects and programs for utility and wholesale market clients, working independently with limited supervision and clear communication. The role emphasizes REST APIs, SFTP and modern DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of professional experience in C# and .NET.
• Experience with front-end tech: React, Razor, ASP.NET MVC.
• Experience with SQL databases and ORM (Entity Framework).
• Experience with REST APIs and SFTP integrations.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
• Adaptable to a fast-paced, growing environment.
• Clear, concise technical documentation and good communication.

Job description

We’d like you to join our team as a remote employee developing our software components running in a cloud environment. Olivine has a development environment utilizing Windows, .NET, and Azure. You keep abreast of changes to the .NET universe and are involved in .NET communities. Your experience developing scalable web solutions is important.
Knowing the difference between a kilowatt and a kilowatt-hour is a plus!

This is a remote role for a remote-experienced developer.

We conduct a rigorous screening process including a background screen, identity verification and technical and fit interviews.

The final interview will be in person with location to be determined.

What You Bring

• Minimum 2+ years of professional experience in C#, and .NET
• Experienced with front-end technologies, specifically React, Razor, ASP.Net MVC
• Experienced with SQL databases and ORM (preferably Entity Framework)
• Experienced with complex integrations using technologies like REST APIs and SFTP
• You work independently to solve complex problems with limited supervision.
• You thrive in a fast-paced environment and be adaptable to the evolving processes and growth in the organization.
• You write clear, concise, and accurate technical material.
• You communicate effectively and work cooperatively both internally and with external customers.
• You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

How to Stand Out

• You have strong DevOps and CI/CD skills and knowledge for cloud-based environments, and particularly the Azure ecosystem.
• Knowledge of the distributed energy resource domain:
  • including technologies and applications such as solar PV
  • battery storage
  • electric vehicle smart charging and grid integration
  • demand response strategies, or similar.
• Experience in the electric energy industry writing software.

What You Will Do

You will be part of a team of .NET Engineers at all experience levels on our Software Development team and play a key role in delivering software solutions for Olivine’s DER projects and programs for utility and wholesale market clients. Our software systems run the gamut from market-integrated trading systems to our consumer mobile
application. You will:

• Participate in the design and development of core components and critical
• functionality
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
• Conduct code reviews to maintain high quality standards
• Contribute to the evolution and refinement of development processes and
• standards
• Collaborate with internal team members on feature development (ranging from requirements refinement and coordinating testing to communicating status updates)
• Work with outside vendors on systems integration projects
