Job summary

ISHIR in Fairfield, California, seeks a Software Engineer on a 1-year onsite contract to support a cross-functional team in the Specialty Property department. You will maintain and enhance tools critical to product development, risk management, and underwriting execution, collaborating with DBAs and other software engineers.

You will deliver reliable, efficient solutions, develop and integrate RESTful APIs, automate processes with scheduled jobs, and maintain WinForms or WPF applications,

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong experience with ASP.NET, C#, .NET, and front-end technologies such as jQuery and/or React.
• Strong experience with relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL).
• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of MVVM design patterns.
• Experience with process automation, service setup, job scheduling, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.

Position Summary:

We are looking to fill in software engineer position in the Specialty Property department. This individual will support a cross-functional team of product developers, actuaries, catastrophe risk modelers, underwriters, and data analysts by maintaining and enhancing tools critical to product development, risk management, and underwriting execution. The role will also partner closely with the database administrator and software engineers currently supporting the business.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (May perform any or all of the following):

• Maintain and enhance software tools that support insurance product development, underwriting workflows, and risk management.
• Deliver reliable, efficient solutions quickly that improve business operations and decision-making.

• Experience in the insurance industry is preferred.
