Job summary

Cayuse Holdings seeks a C# .NET Developer to contribute to web applications and services for mission-critical federal operations. You will work hands-on with the .NET framework to build back-end components that integrate with front-end and cloud-based systems, collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-quality software.

Requirements include a TS security clearance, strong C#/.NET experience, and a history of working in a regulated or government

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT/CS/Engineering or related field; OR 8+ years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • 3–5 years of professional experience designing and developing software using C#/.NET.
  • Hands-on experience with ASP.NET, Entity Framework, and SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with architectural patterns and API styles (REST/RPC).
  • Experience writing and executing unit tests and performing integration tests.
  • Understanding of secure coding practices and vulnerability remediation.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and translate requirements into technical tasks.
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Must pass background checks as required by projects/clients.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain features using C#, ASP.NET, EF, and SQL Server.
  • Modify and enhance existing code for performance and maintainability.
  • Integrate third-party components and APIs as needed.
  • Participate in full SDLC from planning to deployment and support.
  • Collaborate with architects to follow established patterns and standards.
  • Write clean, scalable, maintainable code aligned with guidelines and security standards.
  • Develop and execute unit and integration tests; support regression testing.
  • Troubleshoot defects and performance issues, including database and service bottlenecks.
  • Use Git/GitLab for source control and collaboration.
  • Support operations and maintenance activities and production issues.
  • Engage in code reviews and implement feedback for quality.

Job description

Overview

The C# .NET Developer will contribute to the development, enhancement, and maintenance of web applications and services that enable mission‑critical operations in a federal environment.

This role will work hands‑on with the .NET framework and associated technologies to build clean, efficient, and reliable back‑end components that integrate seamlessly with front‑end and cloud‑based systems. You will collaborate closely with senior developers, architects, designers, product owners, and other cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver high‑quality software solutions that adhere to best practices, coding standards, and security requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain application features usingC#, ASP.NET, Entity Framework, and SQL Server.
  • Modify and enhance existing application code to improveperformance, functionality, and maintainability.
  • Integratethird‑party components, services, and APIs(e.g., REST/RPC-based) as needed.
  • Participate in thefull software development lifecycle (SDLC), including planning, requirements analysis, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations support.
  • Collaborate withsenior developers and architectsto implement technical designs and follow established architectural patterns, coding standards, and design guidelines.
  • Writeclean, scalable, and maintainable codealigned with team guidelines, industry best practices, and security standards.
  • Develop and executeunit tests and integration teststo validate functionality, ensure code quality, and support regression testing.
  • Troubleshoot and resolvetechnical issues, defects, and performance bottlenecks, including database and service-level performance.
  • UseGit/GitLabfor source control, branching strategies, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows.
  • Supportoperations and maintenance (O&M)activities, including minor enhancements, bug fixes, performance tuning, and production support as needed.
  • Participate actively incode reviewsand incorporate feedback from senior engineers to continuously improve code quality and your technical proficiency.
  • Assist inremediating code and package vulnerabilitiesidentified through automated scans and security reviews, following secure coding guidance and direction from senior team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degreein Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
    • ORequivalent experience (e.g.,8+ years of relevant professional software development experiencein lieu of a degree).
  • 3–5 years of professional experiencedesigning and developing software usingC# and the .NET framework.
  • Hands‑on experience withASP.NET,Entity Framework, andSQL Server(queries, stored procedures, performance considerations).
  • Familiarity witharchitectural patterns and API styles, includingRESTandRPC.
  • Experiencewriting and executing unit testsand performingintegration testingwithin a structured SDLC.
  • Understanding ofsecure coding practicesand a willingness to follow guidance for vulnerability remediation and security hardening.
  • Demonstrated ability tocollaborate with cross‑functional teams(e.g., product owners, testers, designers, operations teams) and translate functional requirements into well‑defined technical tasks.
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

Minimum Skills Required:

  • Proficient in Microsoft and Adobe toolsets, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Acrobat, etc.

  • Must be a Self-starter, that can work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in afederal governmentor regulated environment.
  • Familiarity withDevSecOpspractices, CI/CD pipelines, and automated build/test tools.
  • Experience withcloud platforms(e.g., Azure, AWS, or similar) and integrating .NET applications with cloud services.
  • Exposure toAgilemethodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and related tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
  • Experience withstatic code analysisand vulnerability scanning tools.
