Job summary

Motion Recruitment seeks a Lead .NET/AI/MCP Developer to partner with the Lead Architect and a team of developers, advancing enterprise AI initiatives. You will integrate AI capabilities into existing enterprise apps while ensuring stability, scalability, and performance.

The role combines strong C#/.NET expertise with modern API development, MCP, and practical AI integration in complex production environments. A 12-month contract with extension potential is offered.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience building enterprise applications with C# and .NET
• Extensive experience designing and developing scalable, high-performance RESTful APIs using .NET Framework and/or .NET Core
• Experience integrating AI services, large language models (LLMs), or AI agents into enterprise software platforms
• Hands-on experience with or strong understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP)
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server, database architecture, query optimization, and high-volume data processing
• Experience implementing caching technologies, with Redis preferred
• Experience with asynchronous messaging and queuing architectures
• Ability to analyze and resolve downstream impacts resulting from AI integrations across complex enterprise systems
• Previous experience serving as a Lead Developer, Technical Lead, Principal Engineer, or Senior Software Engineer
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Proven experience leading complex technical initiatives and making architectural decisions
• Ability to mentor engineers and establish development best practices
• Experience designing resilient integration layers, caching, rate limiting, and enterprise-scale API architectures

Responsibilities

• Build Resilient AI Infrastructure: Create stable, fault-tolerant integration patterns that successfully connect AI tools with traditional enterprise software.
• Accelerate C#/.NET Development: Drive speed and efficiency across core C#/.NET REST API applications to support real-time AI data flows.
• Develop MCP Integration Layers: Implement Model Context Protocol (MCP) API layers to enable secure, fast, and structured communication between AI agents and enterprise systems.
• Protect Core Databases: Design rate-limiting, caching, buffering, and request-management layers to protect production databases and applications from high-volume AI traffic.
• Partner with Architecture: Work directly with Enterprise Architecture to translate technical designs into practical, production-ready solutions.
• Manage Downstream Impacts: Identify, document, and resolve hidden or undocumented system behaviors and downstream impacts resulting from AI integrations.
• Optimize Enterprise Performance: Improve application performance, scalability, availability, and maintainability across complex distributed systems.
• Provide Technical Leadership: Lead through code reviews, solution design, engineering best practices, mentoring, and practical technical decision-making.
• Troubleshoot Complex Systems: Diagnose and resolve complex software engineering challenges across highly integrated enterprise environments.
• Support Modernization: Contribute to modernization initiatives that improve long-term platform stability and enable enterprise AI adoption.

We are seeking a Lead .NET/AI/MCP Developer to partner closely with the Lead Architect and a team of fellow Developers in advancing enterprise AI initiatives. This role will focus on integrating AI capabilities into existing enterprise applications while ensuring system stability, scalability, and performance. The ideal candidate combines deep C#/.NET expertise with modern API development and a practical approach to implementing AI technologies within complex production environments.
