Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking an experienced Engineer to support NERC CIP compliance, policy development, and cross-functional audit readiness across its FE footprint. The role involves reviewing diagrams, assisting with battery of change-control activities, and improving cyber asset and transmission processes.

You will work with multiple stakeholders, prepare audit evidence, and help identify risk areas with mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil or Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program required (or PE license or ABET engineering tech degree + advanced degree).
Fundamentals of Engineering Certificate preferred.
Minimum of 3 years engineering experience required.
Working knowledge of CASCADE, PowerBase, EDOA, PowerBI, FileNet and SAP.
Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

Assist with development, monitoring and evaluation of technical rational to comply with NERC standards and FE policies.
Serve as SME for Asset Policy group in reviewing diagrams and device functionality in change control meetings.
Improve processes for initiation of transmission work to meet CIP V5 guidelines.
Collaborate with Transmission stakeholders to interpret policy and procedures.
Prepare evidence for audits and maintain systems to track NERC compliance.
Support emergency plans during storm duties and participate in cross-functional teams.
