NERA invites applications for a Researcher in the Securities and Finance practice in its New York City office. The role focuses on designing quantitative models, econometric analysis, and exposition of findings for high-profile clients in law, finance, and regulation.

We seek candidates with strong academic records in economics or quantitative fields, who can communicate clearly, work well on teams, and contribute to reports, exhibits, and presentations. Travel is minimal.

NERA has an immediate opening for a Researcher to join the Securities and Finance business line in our New York City office.

We’re looking for candidates with strong academic records at top schools who have demonstrated success in economics, finance, or other quantitative fields. Individuals should enjoy solving analytical and empirical problems and have exceptional creative and critical thinking skills, as well as excellent oral and written communications skills.

Responsibilities may include:

• designing and building quantitative models and applying econometric analysis to economic and financial data
• valuation analyses
• reviewing, summarizing, and analyzing industry trends
• creating trial exhibits and presentation materials
• writing code for complex data analysis
• participating in client meetings
• and drafting memos and expert reports

There is little to no travel involved with the position.

Researcher Qualifications: NERA welcomes candidates with a BA or a BS in any major to apply (Economics, Math, Philosophy, Physics and Computer Science particularly welcome). As a qualified candidate you should be able to demonstrate exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills and must be detail-oriented, have exceptional communication skills, and work well on teams. Strong coursework and/or experience in finance, economics, accounting, statistical analysis/econometrics, and computer programming are all desirable.

The applicable base salary for this role is $95,000–$105,000per year.

The base pay offered will bedeterminedon factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will bedeterminedon a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
