Job summary

San Juan Regional Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Tech to be part of a patient-focused team that delivers compassionate care. The role functions as a communication hub within the patient care environment and supports a healing atmosphere for our community.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Nursing assistant experience or certification; if no nursing assistant experience or certification, completion of nursing assistant or patient care tech program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within two (2) weeks of hire
• Legible printing
• Clear speaking voice
• Typing/computer skills
• Mature, courteous deportment
• Driver’s license free of violation for SJRIR

Physical Demands and Environmental Work Conditions:

• Meets OSHA training requirements
• Potential exposure to blood and bodily fluids
• Intermittent or prolonged standing, walking, and sitting
• Effectively copes and strives for balance when caring for acutely ill patients and families
• Accepts the risk of job-related illness and injury which may cause long-term health problems
• Repetitive motions (i.e., wrist/hand movements, grasping, and finger dexterity as in typing, writing, faxing, filing papers, etc.)
• Able to lift greater than fifty (50) pounds and push up to three hundred (300) pounds using approved hospital transport devices
