Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse with an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification or eligibility within 45 days.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for diverse patient interactions.
• Ability to work with physicians, nurses, and staff as part of a care team.
• Physical ability to perform tasks listed in the job description and lift requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and rooms the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and documenting health information.
• Performs laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and infection control.
• Assists physicians with procedures and surgeries under supervision.
• Administers medications per orders, including immunizations and IV therapy within scope.
• Provides patient education and coordinates test requests, refills, and referrals.
• Communicates patient status to the care team and documents updates accurately.
• Performs advanced clinical tasks under supervision such as sutures removal and catheterization.
• Maintains exam rooms, labs, and supplies; handles patient transport with safe technique.
• Maintains clinic equipment through routine cleaning, sterilizing, and upkeep.
• Participates in care quality and patient-centered initiatives.
