Qualifications

  • MD (or foreign equivalent) and ABIM board-certified in Nephrology (or foreign equivalent).
  • Completed an ACGME-accredited nephrology fellowship (or foreign equivalent).
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Washington.
  • Successful candidates should demonstrate outstanding clinical and teaching skills.
  • U.S. Citizens (permanent residents may be appointed only if it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens).

Responsibilities

  • Provide nephrology care on inpatient consult service and outpatient clinics.
  • Perform clinic triage and electronic consultations.
  • Deliver care for patients undergoing long-term dialysis.
  • Travel to outreach specialty clinics within the VA Puget Sound Health Care System.
  • Participate in divisional teaching and academic conferences (e.g., grand rounds).
