Job Description

Translation & Interpretation Network (TIN) is hiring fluent bilingual speakers as Independent Contractors for Onsite, Video Remote Interpreting (VRI), and Over the Phone Interpreting (OPI). The interpreter will provide interpretation in fields such as education, medical, social services, legal, court, etc. We offer a flexible schedule where you may accept or decline jobs based on your availability. The interpreter must have professional proficiency in English and Nepali and follow the professional Code of Ethics.

Responsibilities

1. Interpret between English and Nepali.
2. Accurately interpret between English and Nepali.
3. Maintain professionalism in attitude and interpreting services.
4. Have reliable transportation for onsite appointments and a reliable phone, internet, and quiet environment for virtual appointments.
5. Understand language variations and interpreting modes.

Qualifications

1. Proficient in English and Nepali, both written and spoken.
2. Proficient computer skills including email, scheduling systems, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, etc.
3. Advanced interpretation and communication skills.
4. Familiarity with interpreting modes - Simultaneous, Consecutive, VRI, OPI, OSI.
5. Certified in interpreting or related field, such as a BA in interpretation or translation.
6. At least 1-2 years of interpreting experience in a professional setting.
