Job Summary

Neonatologist Level III NICU Philadelphia, PA Academic Appointment

St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children is recruiting a full-time BC/BE Neonatologist to join our team. As part of a multidisciplinary and clinically integrated team, you will provide care within our affiliated Level III NICU and Academic Medical Center in Philadelphia.

What you can expect:
  • Work in a Level III 26-bed NICU, with an average daily census of 18 babies.
  • Handle approximately 2,500 deliveries annually and 400 NICU admissions, caring for infants as young as 23 weeks gestation.
  • Collaborate with 2 Neonatologists and 1 Physician Assistant during day shifts, and 1 Neonatologist and 1 Physician Assistant during night shifts, supported by NICU-certified RNs, social workers, nutritionists, and experienced support staff.
  • 24/7 Neonatal Physician Assistants support in the NICU.
  • The Newborn Nursery is staffed by pediatricians.
  • The division emphasizes quality improvement, participating in the Vermont Oxford Network.
  • This team-based approach aims to deliver the highest quality care, with outcomes exceeding national averages for critically ill newborns.
  • Cover 1 hospital location.
  • Opportunities for advancement and participation in special projects.
  • Academic appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.
  • Support from a large network of pediatric subspecialists.
  • No surgical cases, manageable census, and a supportive team to reduce burnout.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain/maintain DEA certification for PA.
