Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando is seeking a Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Therapist for a StaffFlex contract working night shifts. You will deliver routine and specialized respiratory therapies, monitor patients, and coach families through treatment decisions while adhering to safety protocols.

Requires an Associate degree and valid respiratory care credentials, with BLS/ACLS/RRT/CRT; neonatal/pediatric experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an approved respiratory care program.
• Associate degree or equivalent required.
• State licensing and professional credentials required.

Responsibilities

• Delivers routine respiratory treatments and continuous respiratory therapy including aerosol therapy, lung expansion therapy, oxygen therapy, and bronchial hygiene.
• Monitors, instructs, and coaches patients before, during, and after treatment delivery.
• Prevents and/or resolves untoward side effects and adjusts therapies according to protocol and documented clinical criteria.
• Reevaluates patient/ventilator interface every four hours, responds to alarms, and troubleshoots as needed.
• Establishes weaning readiness and facilitates the weaning process, adjusting ventilator settings on progress.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Patient care skills to care for neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient populations are required. [Required]

• Arterial line placements [Preferred]

Education:

• Associate [Required]
• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field of Study:

• Must be a graduate of an approved respiratory care program

Work Experience:

• 1+ critical care experience [Preferred]
