Job summary

UVA Health in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to evaluate, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions across diverse clinical settings. This role supports stabilization, disease management, and recovery, working closely with physicians, nurses, and the care team.

You will deliver therapies per orders, monitor ventilation and oxygen delivery, educate patients and families, document care, and participate in multidisciplinary rounds.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CoARC accredited respiratory therapy program.
• 12 months of acute/critical care respiratory therapy clinical experience.
• Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license and Virginia state licensure.
• AHA BLS certification; NBRC specialty credential expected within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver respiratory care therapies per physician orders and protocols.
• Assess respiratory status and adjust treatments accordingly.
• Manage and monitor mechanical ventilation and oxygen delivery systems.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care team to implement care plans.
• Educate patients and families about respiratory conditions, therapies, and equipment.
