Job summary

ProHealth Care seeks a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to manage critically ill neonates in the NICU, collaborating with neonatologists across WMH and OMH. The role involves ongoing education of staff and students, and maintaining credentialed privileges within the medical staff offices.

Master’s degree and Wisconsin NP licensure are required, with NICU experience preferred. BLS/NRP are required on hire, and the organization supports a Just Culture and career development within a large health system.

Qualifications

• Meets all necessary competencies within 6 months of hire.
• BLS and NRP upon hire.
• Nurse Practitioner license with the State of WI.
• NICU experience preferred.
• Master Degree required.
• Possesses computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages critically ill neonatal patients through collaboration, consultation and direct care in the NICU.
• Collaborates with neonatologists at Level 3 NICU.
• Involves ongoing education of nursing staff, residents and students.
• Maintains credentials with procedural privileges through medical staff offices.
• Participates in multidisciplinary mortality and morbidity rounds.
• Coordinates and participates in NICU research activities.
• Provides procedural support to the ED for newborn/infant code blue.
