Qualifications

  • Master's prepared Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner required.
  • Must be currently licensed and certified to practice as required by law.
  • RNP license or equivalent certification per governing board and facility bylaws.

Responsibilities

  • Adheres to and supports Tenet Physician Resources mission, policies, and procedures.
  • Obtains and records health history; performs comprehensive physical assessment.
  • Diagnoses and plans appropriate care; refers to physicians when needed.
  • Completes all required documentation per TPR policy.
  • Orders medications and provides health teaching during exams.
  • Assists physicians and supports quality assurance, infection control and safety activities.

Job Summary

Join a fantastic Neonatal Nurse Practitioner team in Tucson at St. Joseph's Hospital. The position is ideal for a provider who is passionate about neonatal medicine and committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

Position Highlights

  • Full-time role providing care to neonatal patients in a hospital setting

  • Shift Schedule- 2-2:30pm-8-8:30am
  • Procedures: UVC and UAC placement, lumbar puncture, chest tube placement, endotracheal intubation

Responsibilities
  1. Adheres to and supports the mission, purpose, philosophy, objectives, policies, and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources.
  2. Adheres to the Tenet HIPAA Compliance Plan and the Privacy Standards Confidentiality Agreement.
  3. Demonstrates support for the Tenet Corporate Compliance Program by being knowledgeable of compliance responsibilities as expressed in the Code of Conduct; adhering to federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and corporate policies and procedures policies that affect his/her specific job functions/responsibilities; and reporting compliance issues/concerns in a timely and appropriate manner.
  4. Obtains and records client's health history; performs comprehensive physical assessment (including biological, social and psychological needs) as part of a total physical examination.
  5. Diagnoses, treats and plans appropriate health care for clients as appropriate for specialty; refers clients to physicians and/or outside agencies as required.
  6. Ensure completion of all required documentation of patient care activities in accordance with TPR policy.
  7. Fulfill all duties assigned by physician
  8. Reports to the attending physician of any injuries or adverse reactions during or after treatment
  9. Participates in patient review conferences and staffing
  10. Assists the physician as follows, but not limited to Utilization Review, Quality Assurance, Program Evaluation, Infection Control, Safety Committee activities
  11. Adhere to the established policies and procedures of Tenet Physician Resources Orders and interprets the results of laboratory tests as part of the physical examination and health management.
  12. Perform and oversee testing and other appropriate procedures.
  13. Conducts health teaching and counseling during the physical exam, as appropriate, enabling the client to make informed choices about health and treatment options.
  14. Provides consultative direction as needed for nursing, laboratory and clinic assistant staff.
  15. Orders medications.
  16. Other duties as assigned

Required: Must be currently licensed, certified or registered to practice profession as required by law, regulation in state of practice or policy. RNP License. Additional certification(s) per governing board and in accordance with the facility Medical Staff Bylaws.
