Job summary

Mass General Brigham in Boston seeks a certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our NICU/SCN team. This full-time position covers rotating day/night shifts in a 38-bed NICU/SCN with a 21-bed level IV NICU and 17-bed level II SCN, and a high-risk delivery service.

The NP will assess and manage neonates with varied medical and surgical diagnoses, performing rounds, ordering tests, writing prescriptions, and contributing to 24-hour coverage with in-house back-up.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Nursing required.
• Experience cannot replace a degree.
• Licensed as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (MA).

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
• Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
• Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
• Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
• Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
