Job summary

CommonSpirit Health in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to cover Level II/III NICUs across multiple campuses. The role emphasizes high-risk infant care, family education, and collaborative practice within a dynamic Women’s Health division.

You will work in an inpatient NICU setting, perform exams, order tests, and participate in rounds, with opportunities to provide care at Creighton University Bergan Mercy and affiliated hospitals as oriented.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate Degree in Neonatal Nurse Practitioner from an accredited program.
• Certification as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (NNP) required.
• Active Nebraska license or eligibility to obtain one.
• BLS, PALS and NRP certifications required.
• Commitment to providing high quality, compassionate care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical care in a Neonatal ICU inpatient setting and take medical histories and perform complete physical examinations.
• Initiate appropriate labs, radiology tests and other evaluations; perform routine and specialized procedures as credentialed; may prescribe and monitor medications.
• Participate in medical team rounds and collaborate with physicians, nursing and other staff; educate families about disease, treatments, side effects and hazards; refer to specialists as appropriate.
• Collaborate with the care team to ensure high-quality, patient- and family-centered care.
