Job summary

Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN, seeks a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team and provide advanced care for critically ill neonates from admission to discharge.

Role includes coordinating with physicians and nursing staff, managing complex neonatal cases, and participating in delivery room services and neonatal transport. Full-time, with potential for a sign-on bonus for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• Relevant neonatal care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document health history for a neonate; perform system-focused or symptom-specific physical examination, assessment, and plan of care.
• Provide neonatal healthcare services for critically ill and complex patients; manage overall care, identifying expected outcomes for diagnoses.
• Order, perform, interpret, and collect data using appropriate assessment techniques and diagnostic procedures.
• Form differential diagnoses and treat acute and chronic conditions in the neonatal population.
• Prescribe therapeutic interventions (pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, surgical) needed to achieve expected outcomes.
• Perform delivery room service and neonatal transport services; initiate referrals and consultations, and provide consultation services as requested within scope of practice.
• Facilitate patient transition between and within health-care settings (admission, transfer, discharge).
• Additional duties may be assigned.
