Job summary

The Assistant Nurse Manager at Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) reports to the Nurse Manager and oversees clinical operations in a defined patient care area, guiding the nursing process, staffing, and quality initiatives to achieve ICCE and organizational goals.

This role requires BSN, MSN or DNP in lieu, five years RN experience, SC nursing licensure, BLS, and a commitment to shared governance, staff development, and patient-centered care across shifts, including night coverage.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited program; MSN or DNP in lieu of BSN; MSN/DNP within 4 years if BSN only.
• Minimum 5 years of related RN experience.
• SC Board of Nursing licensure (or compact state) required; BLS certification.
• Specialty area certification preferred or completed within one year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist Nurse Manager in assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Support achievement of department and ICCE goals and promote shared governance.
• Foster collaboration across medical staff and health care disciplines.
• Provide departmental call coverage as required.
