Job summary

Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Hartford, CT, seeks a Clinical Pharmacist NICU to optimize drug therapy for neonates. You’ll design therapy, monitor outcomes, and dispense medications per SOPs, ACLS, PALS, and USP guidelines, serving as the medication expert for the unit.

You will supervise Pharmacy Technicians, coordinate with NICU rounds and nursing staff, and potentially cross-cover other hospital departments and the Central Pharmacy.

Qualifications

• Licensed Pharmacist in Connecticut.
• ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Expertise in medication management for neonatal care.

Responsibilities

• Designs therapy, monitors outcomes and dispenses medications following SOPs, ACLS, PALS, and USP guidelines.
• Directs the work of Pharmacy Technicians.
• Manages daily pharmacy workload in the NICU and can cross cover other departments and the Central Pharmacy.
• Responds to general drug questions, participates in medical rounds, conducts nursing unit inspections, and identifies medication-related issues.
• May function as Charge Pharmacist as needed.
