Job description

The English Department seeks a graduate student to work as a NeMLA Graduate Assistant on projects related to the Northeast Modern Language Association (NeMLA), a professional academic association focused on literatures, languages, and the interdisciplinary humanities.

The NeMLA Graduate Assistant will support NeMLA’s executive director and associate executive director with various administrative tasks. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  1. Preparing content for the newsletter (researching, writing, editing, coordinating with contributors)
  2. General office tasks (filing, printing, scanning, campus deliveries, organization, inventory management)
  3. Assisting with the annual convention (preparation, logistics, setup/breakdown, operations, coordinating staff)
  4. Researching and gathering information to support decision-making (organizing documents, researching vendors or products)
  5. Communicating with members, officers, and the board of directors
  6. Preparing documents
  7. Other duties and projects as assigned
