Job summary

Feeding America is seeking a seasoned advocate and community engagement leader for a hybrid role based in our Washington, DC office. This position focuses on building neighbor-centered advocacy, organizing, and community engagement across Feeding America’s network.

Responsibilities include planning trainings, managing grants, coordinating convenings, and fostering partnerships with state associations and local food banks. 5+ years in relevant work and Spanish language skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in issue community organizing, advocacy, grassroots mobilization, issue campaigns or community engagement.
• Demonstrated project management experience and strong organizational skills.
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manages implementation and evaluation of neighbor advocacy and community engagement programs, planning trainings, creating resources, and providing technical assistance to build capacity.
• Administers, tracks and evaluates advocacy grants, supporting evaluation and grant management.
• Plans, coordinates in-person and virtual convenings focused on advocacy and community engagement with network members and stakeholders.
• Engages with neighbor advocates and partners to foster connection and power building.
• Maintains a database of neighbor advocates, partners, and stakeholders engaged in advocacy initiatives.
• Tracks and evaluates neighbor advocacy efforts using data to improve services and resources.
• Shares best practices in neighbor advocacy and engagement across the network.
• Collaborates with internal stakeholders to integrate policy positions into cross-programmatic strategies.
• Acts as a liaison during internal and external conference sessions and cross-enterprise task forces.
