Job summary

Feeding America in Washington, DC is seeking a seasoned professional to lead neighbor-centered advocacy, community organizing and engagement strategies across our national network and with partner food banks and state associations.

The role focuses on building, implementing and evaluating programming and capacity to empower neighbors and community partners. This is a hybrid position based out of our DC office with an emphasis on collaboration and impact.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in issue community organizing, advocacy, grassroots mobilization, issue campaigns or community engagement.
• Demonstrated project management experience and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages implementation and evaluation of key programs within Feeding America’s neighbor advocacy and organizing and community engagement strategy: trains organizers, creates resources, and provides technical assistance to network members and partners.
• Administers, tracks and evaluates advocacy, organizing and community engagement grants, supporting evaluation and grant management.
• Plans, coordinates in-person and virtual convenings focused on advocacy, organizing and community engagement with network members and stakeholders.
• Engages directly with neighbor-advocates, network members and national/local stakeholders to foster connection and power building.
• Develops and maintains a database of neighbor advocates, partners and stakeholders involved in Feeding America advocacy and engagement initiatives.
• Tracks and evaluates neighbor advocacy efforts to improve technical assistance and resource creation.
• Gathers and shares best practices across the network; collaborates to integrate policy positions into cross-programmatic strategies.
