About the Team and Role

We strive to provide a performant and secure browsing experience for users and stable, easy‑to‑use Networking APIs for developers. We improve our existing implementations and, together with the broader community, advance the web through the evolution of relevant standards.

What You’ll Get To Do

• Improve Firefox’s web browsing experience with a particular focus on the networking stack and network‑related APIs, e.g., Fetch, WebTransport.
• Design and implement new web platform features and networking protocols in collaboration with the web and internet standards community.
• Debug and fix correctness and performance problems in our multi‑threaded codebase.
• Debug platform‑specific networking issues.
• Improve Firefox’s stability and correctness.

What You Bring

• Experience with programming in Rust and/or C/C++ and familiarity with concepts of memory safety, test‑driven development, data analysis, and secure software development practices.
• English fluency and a willingness to conduct open software engineering work.
• Previous experience with networking and/or systems programming is a bonus.
• Enrollment in a university in Germany and willingness to occasionally visit our office in Berlin.

Hiring Ranges

Germany Locations: €28,00 EUR per hour.
