Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee the operations of the water business group in Nebraska/Iowa, including daily management, staff recruitment and development, business development, project delivery, profitability, workload management, staff mentoring, and quality control.
- Manage client projects related to drinking water, wastewater, water resource management, communications, public involvement, planning, environmental, and construction management services across Nebraska and Iowa.
- Prepare annual revenue forecasts and budgets; monitor performance; lead project pursuits aligned with staff skills.
- Coordinate with the Business Development Manager on strategic pursuits, marketing budgets, and market initiatives.
- Manage, mentor, and provide technical direction to staff; oversee project quality and delivery; lead marketing efforts.
- Engage with leadership on strategic initiatives tailored to the Nebraska/Iowa market during planning and annual meetings.
- Serve as a senior project manager on select projects and lead cross-service line coordination.
- Recruit, train, and develop water personnel.
- Collaborate with regional and national directors and other business lines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 15 years of experience in water, wastewater, and federal water regulatory projects.
- MS in Civil, Chemical, Environmental Engineering preferred.
- Nebraska and/or Iowa PE license required or ability to obtain by reciprocity within 6 months.
- Successful leadership in business development, client relationship cultivation, and project execution.
- Proven staff leadership and mentorship skills.
- Strong project and program management experience.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Team-oriented, self-motivated, and well-organized.
- Experience working with design and construction teams positively.
- Prior consulting experience preferred; local candidates preferred.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience leading diverse teams and commitment to quality and HDR values.
- Active participation in professional or industry associations.
- Ability to collaborate with regional and local managers and directors.
