Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an NDT Technician to perform non-destructive testing on aircraft components in accordance with NAS 410 and FAA regulations, ensuring safety and quality.

The role involves disassembly, inspection, documentation, and maintenance of NDT tools, with overtime and travel as needed; candidates must hold NAS 410 Level I–III, pass vision/color tests, and have aviation MRO or structure inspection experience.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum documented experience to meet NAS 410 certification requirements.
  • Understanding of NDT methods and industry standards.
  • Ability to obtain NAS 410 Level I, II, or III certifications.
  • Knowledge of FAA regulations, quality standards, and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Basic computer skills, including maintenance databases.
  • Ability to work safely around X-ray and radiographic equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and varying shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to pass vision and color perception testing; Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License.
  • Previous aviation, aerospace, MRO, or aircraft structures inspection experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform NAS 410-compliant NDT inspections on aircraft components and structures.
  • Disassemble, clean, prepare, inspect, test, and document findings.
  • Maintain NDT equipment and calibration; support certification processes.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA regulations and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with team to meet deadlines in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Job Description

The NDT Technician is responsible for performing non-destructive testing and inspection activities on aircraft components and structures in accordance with NAS 410 standards, FAA regulations, and company procedures. This role supports inspection, testing, maintenance, and quality assurance efforts while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities include component disassembly, cleaning, preparation, inspection, testing, documentation, equipment maintenance, and supporting continuous certification requirements. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced aviation maintenance environment with occasional overtime, weekend, and off-shift work.

Skills and Requirements

  • Basic computer skills, including navigating electronic manuals, training platforms, and maintenance databases

  • Ability to work safely around X-ray and radiographic inspection equipment

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality standards

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment

  • Reliable transportation and flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and varying shifts as required

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods

  • Ability to pass vision and color perception testing Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License

  • Previous experience in aviation, aerospace, MRO, or aircraft structures inspection


Experience with one or more NDT methods including:


  • Radiographic Testing (RT)

  • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)

  • Eddy Current Testing (ET)

  • Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)

  • Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT)


Experience inspecting aircraft landing gear, airframes, or structural components


Familiarity with NAS 410 certification processes and documentation requirements


Experience performing equipment maintenance and calibration of NDT tools


Valid passport and ability to travel as required


Previous leadership, mentorship, or team lead experience
