Job summary

ECS Group of Companies is seeking an NDT Technician I to join our Chesapeake team. You will perform non-destructive testing, inspections, and data collection under supervision, applying basic methods across diverse environments while building technical skills.

Responsibilities include field testing, documentation, and reporting, with opportunities for growth and certification toward Level II in NDT. Must be able to travel, lift equipment, and work outdoors in industrial settings.

Qualifications

• 1 year of related experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Maintain certifications and pursue Level II in NDT.
• Valid driver’s license if driving for ECS.
• Willingness to travel extensively.
• Ability to work outdoors in industrial environments.
• Completion of initial NDT training or experience assisting Level II technicians.
• Basic math, data reduction, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs destructive and non-destructive testing per procedures.
• Conducts field observations, inspections, and material testing.
• Documents field activities and prepares daily field reports.
• Communicates with contractors, technicians, and project managers.
• Operates and maintains field testing equipment.
• Performs data reduction and basic reporting.
• Participates in project meetings as required.
