Precision Castparts is seeking an NDT Tech/Wall Inspector for the 2nd shift (2:00 PM–10:00 PM) at our Mentor, OH location. The incumbent will inspect and test parts for defects, read thickness measurements, and ensure compliance with quality instructions.

Strong teamwork and independence are essential, with a focus on timely, accurate results. Responsibilities include setting up equipment, calibrations, maintaining records, and passing annual audits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with standard quality assurance instruments and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and sort parts for defects and deviations from specifications.
• Use precision measuring instruments and test equipment as required.
• Maintain organized, efficient flow of parts through the area.
• Set up equipment and follow calibration procedures.
• Document inspection results and maintain calibration records.
• Adhere to safety rules and keep workspace clean and orderly.
• Pass yearly wall inspection audits and Snellen eye exam.

2nd shift NDT Wall Inspection

Title: NDT Tech/Wall Inspector

Reports to: NDT Supervisor

Location: Mentor

Shift: 2nd, 2p - 10p

Work Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of experience as an operator in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be familiar with standard quality assurance instruments and gages.

Responsibility:

The Wall Inspector will inspect, test, sort parts for defects, and deviations from specifications. May use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment.

Specific Duties

• Assuring that parts are properly utilized to the applicable thickness determination method utilizing airflow/water flow system.
• Reading and interpreting thickness measurements with reference to applicable Quality Engineering Instructions
• Performing system capability checks specified in inspection procedures
• Maintain an organized, efficient flow of parts through area
• Setting up equipment and following calibration procedures
• Establishing technique to insure an accurate and complete inspection of part per Quality Engineering Instruction
• Organizing, reporting, and maintaining records for the ultrasonic inspection results.
• Keeps work area clean, orderly, and in safe condition, following all safety rules.
• Maintains calibration records for equipment
• Perform other duties as designated by the supervisor
• Must pass the yearly Wall Inspection audits for certification and Snellen eye examination.
• Any and all additional responsibilities as required or assigned.
