Job summary

Acuren is recruiting a NDT Specialist at our Duluth, MN location to perform AUT/PAUT/Guided Wave inspections and related NDT tasks. The role requires applying testing criteria to specifications, assisting with risk management, and preparing detailed project reports.

The candidate should have a technical NDT background, current NDT certifications, and the ability to interpret inspection results; supervisory experience is a plus and travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Some college preferred.
• Technical background in NDT (METHOD/S; UT, UTPA, PAUT, CR, DR, etc.) and procedures with five years experience.
• Current NDT certifications in (METHOD/S; UT, UTPA, PAUT, CR, DR, etc.) required.
• Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively perform assigned NDT tasks and interpret results of inspections.
• Knowledge of NDT equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests to ensure quality or detect discontinuities (defects) using NDT methods (METHOD/S) of inspection.
• Establish techniques for proper examination of objects under inspection, ensuring safety regulations.
• Apply testing criteria per specifications and evaluate results.
• Identify, track, manage and mitigate risk on client engagements; escalate issues for quality, budget, timeline.
• Review asset documentation and operational data including inspection data and auditing NDE activities.
• Complete integrity assessments including physical site walkdowns.
• Prepare project reports with descriptions, conclusions and recommendations.
• Perform specialized inspections.
• Develop techniques for approval by customer certifying agents.
• May instruct and supervise others.
• Extensive knowledge of ASME and API requirements and procedures for continued serviceability.
• Knowledge of health and safety policies.
• Interface with customers regarding schedules and problem solving.
• Use applicable software and computer equipment.
