Job summary

Premier Precision Machining, LLC in New York seeks a materials inspector to perform MT/PT NDT inspections in lab and field, ensuring parts meet quality standards. You’ll document findings, assist in maintenance, and support ISO 9001 compliance.

The position requires an Associate’s in engineering/technical field (preferred), NDT/quality control background preferred, and engineering technician experience preferred. Shift: 2nd shift 4:15 pm – 2:15 am with a $2 shift differential and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate’s in an engineering/technical field preferred.
• Materials testing or NDT experience preferred.
• Quality Control/Assurance background preferred.
• Engineering technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply MT/PT NDT techniques in lab and field to validate material integrity.
• Execute destructive tests on metals under supervision of the Materials Testing Laboratory Manager.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain specialized test equipment; follow safe practices.
• Inspect and disposition incoming materials; record observations and results.
• Enter raw data accurately, analyze trends, and generate needed forms.
• Photograph incoming samples to support identification and record-keeping.
• Perform first-level preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting on analytical systems.
• Reinforce ISO 9001 procedures and continuous improvement activities.
• Study independently and prepare for certification examinations.
• Pitch in on related duties as required.
