Job summary

Applied Technical Services (ATS) seeks Level II VT/MT Technicians for Newport News Shipyard. You will be attached to ATS Chesapeake, VA and perform VT/MT examinations using NDT equipment. Roles include setting up testing gear, reporting results, and working with clients to meet project priorities.

This full-time opportunity offers benefits and includes per diem eligibility. Pay ranges from $38/hr to start up to $48/hr with reviews after six months; travel and overtime are involved.

Qualifications

• Level II VT/MT Technician with NDT certification and documentation.
• NAVSEA and/or shipyard work experience a plus.
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Ability to pass drug screen and background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform VT and MT examinations of materials per procedures, codes, standards, and specifications.
• Set up and utilize NDT testing equipment.
• Operate handheld grinder to remove detected discontinuities.
• Coordinate with managers and clients to determine scope and priorities.
• Prepare written instructions and report examination results.
• Work independently and support team members.
• Participate in ATS and Client Safety Programs.
