Job summary

X-Ray Industries, an Applus+ company, is seeking a Penetrant Testing Level 2 Inspector to join our NDT team in the aerospace sector. The candidate will set up and calibrate PT equipment, conduct tests, interpret results, and document findings in accordance with procedures approved by Level 3.

They will train and guide Level 1 personnel, be familiar with test method scope and limitations, and support in-house training. This is a shift-based role with third shift availability preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be NAS 410 Level 2 certified.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• U.S. citizen and able to work in the United States.
• Able to work third shift preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and standardize PT equipment and document results.
• Interpret and evaluate test results for acceptance or rejection.
• Provide guidance and supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel.
• Develop work instructions under Level 3 approval when required.
• Maintain familiarity with NAS 410 codes and related standards.

X-Ray Industries, an Applus+ company, is a well-established non-destructive testing service provider in the Aerospace industry. With over 80 years of experience, X-Ray Industries is the oldest, most-established NDT provider, offering a broad range of testing and inspection capabilities.

Position Overview

The Penetrant Testing (PT) Level 2 Inspector shall have the skills and knowledge to set up and calibrate equipment, conduct tests, and interpret, evaluate, and document results in accordance with procedures approved by the Level 3 with respect to applicable codes, specifications, and standards. The Level 2 shall be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the test method and shall exercise assigned responsibility for on‑the‑job (OJT) training and guidance of trainees and Level 1 personnel.

We are seeking Level 2 Technicians to join our growing team! Technicians must be certified to NAS‑410. Other certification standards may be considered upon review of certification records. A successful candidate in this role is familiar with the scope and limitations with the test method and performs the testing, calibration, interpretation, evaluation, and documentation in Penetrant Testing (PT). They seek to be a part of a team and have a passion for nondestructive testing!

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up and standardize equipment, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.
• Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique/method.
• Conduct systems performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
• Provide necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel.
• Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual documents that control the methods as used by X-Ray Industries.
• When specified in the written practice, develop work instructions from the approved general procedures; such work instructions shall require final approval by a Level 3 certified in the method.
• Have a basic knowledge of the relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Work Experience

Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. High School Diploma or GED required.

• Certifiable to Level 2 per the requirements of NAS 410
