Job summary

NASSCO is seeking a skilled NDT Inspector in Norfolk, VA, to perform QA inspections and tests to verify conformance with drawings, specs, and contract requirements. The role requires Level II NDT certification across VT, PT, MT, UT, with the ability to certify if not already.

Strong reading of blueprints and test instrumentation is essential. Work hours are M-F 0600-1445 with on-site duties in a dynamic ship repair environment.

Qualifications

• Technical/Associate Degree in QA/Marine-related field or equivalent.
• 4–6 years QA inspection experience or equivalent trade.
• Certified as a Level II NDT Inspector (VT/PT/MT/UT) or able to certify within duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform QA inspections and tests to substantiate conformance to drawings, specs, and contract requirements.
• Conduct surveillance audits in all phases during ship repair.
• Prepare NDT reports documenting inspection results and submit required CFR/CAR/PAR reports when needed.
• Train Jl-J2 inspectors in execution of work and maintain quality records.
