Job summary

Lyon Shipyard and Fabrication seeks an experienced NDT Inspector II to perform Visual and Liquid Penetrant inspections in a ship repair environment. You will ensure compliance with NAVSEA and MIL standards, prepare documentation, and provide QA support across production teams.

The role requires Level II VT/PT certification, 3+ years of NDT experience, and strong communication skills to coordinate with contractors, ship personnel, and QA representatives.

Qualifications

• Level II NDT certification in VT and PT per ASNT standards.
• 3+ years of NDT experience in marine or ship repair.
• Ability to interpret NAVSEA/MIL standards and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform Visual and Liquid Penetrant inspections per applicable standards.
• Document and report inspection results and generate OQE evidence.
• Coordinate with QA and production to ensure compliance and timely certifications.
• Initiate Corrective Action Reports and verify effectiveness.
• Support audits and surveillances with clear written records.
