Overview

We are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented NDT Etch Technician Trainee or Level I to join our team on 2nd shift. This position supports non-destructive testing operations through preparation, etching, and inspection of metal components, primarily in aerospace and industrial sectors. The role offers hands-on training and certification opportunities for individuals looking to build a technical career in NDT.

Salary: $21-$23/hr

2nd Shift - 1:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. + $1 shift diff



Responsibilities
  • Perform surface preparation and etching of metallic components for inspection.
  • Follow detailed procedures for chemical etching, handling, and cleaning of parts.
  • Assist in setting up and executing NDT processes, including visual inspections.
  • Label and document parts, test data, and findings accurately per specifications.
  • Monitor chemical baths, equipment, and material flow to support process control.
  • Handle and move parts safely using proper equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.
  • Participate in training and certification activities to attain Level I NDT qualification within 6 months of hire.


Skills / Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to work safely with chemicals and follow procedures.
  • Basic math and mechanical skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
  • Willingness to work 2nd shift and occasional overtime.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.

Work Environment:

  • Work is performed in a lab or shop environment with PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, lab coats, and respirators.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Handling parts with sharp edges, heavy tooling, and working around moving equipment.
  • Strong safety culture with structured procedures and training.
  • Comfort working with chemical etching and inspection equipment in a production setting.

This position requires access to export-controlled items. U.S. citizenship, legal status, or export authorization is required. Employment is contingent upon obtaining necessary export licenses.
