Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector seeks an NDT Engineer – Level 3 or 4 to join our Promontory, UT team. The role develops and implements advanced nondestructive inspection methods to ensure product quality at low cost.

The candidate will design NDT processes, generate formal reports, and interact with suppliers and engineers while pursuing NAS 410 certifications and maintaining DoD clearance. Level is determined by experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher with relevant professional experience (Level 3: 5+ yrs, Level 4: 8+ yrs)
• Must be able to obtain/maintain DoD Secret clearance
• At least one NAS 410 Level 3 certification (ET/UT/RT) with records
• Must obtain NAS 410 Level 3 in additional methods
• Pass vision test (20/25 Snellen or Jaeger No.1) and cross-train in other NDT methods

Responsibilities

• Design NDT inspection processes for energetic, corrosive, and chemical processes
• Create formal customer reports with graphics, tables and summaries
• Communicate with suppliers, designers, safety, tooling engineers and management
• Implement qualification and change management to meet requirements
• Review designs to specify correct NDT method and defect size/type
• Perform other duties as assigned
