Job summary

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) in Salt Lake City, UT, seeks an NDI Technician to perform non-destructive tests on materials and assemblies using radiography, ultrasound, penetrant, eddy current, and other methods. You must hold Level I certification or be able to achieve it; DoD contracting requires US person status with relocation provided.

Weekend shift, collaborative environment, and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Recognized Equivalent.
• College science courses or equivalent education background.
• Ability to successfully pass Level I certification examinations and requirements.
• Current Level I certification preferred, but not required.
• Computer and technical writing skills (i.e.: MS Word, Excel, MS Paint, or equivalent).
• Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills and ability to maintain good will in a potentially adversarial role.
• Understanding of electronics, test equipment, mechanical test methods and materials characteristics.
• Understanding of composite manufacturing/product preferred.
• As a Department of Defense Contractor we are required to hire US Persons.
• Relocation is being provided.

Job Description

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components in order to help our customers push the frontiers of innovation. Our core strength is our ability to produce highly tailored, complex composite components. With our unique blend of products - including 3D woven structures, traditional and non-traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through thickness reinforcement technologies, to name a few - AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.

Performs non-destructive tests (NDT) on materials, manufactured items, or components. Inspects metallic nonmetallic materials, parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods and techniques including radiography, ultrasound, penetrant, eddy current, laser shearography and magnetic particle. Requires certifications in non-destructive testing in accordance with regulations
